ARUSD Universal Course Expectations - Update #3

In Summer 2025, ARUSD finalized a Baseline Systems Study to analyze the systems influencing student outcomes and develop a teacher-driven action plan for improvement. In the 2025-2026 school year, teachers are developing their action plans to address the Baseline System Study results. This video provides an update from August 8th, when all ARUSD teachers attended their first professional development day in the 2025-2026 school year with a focus on implications through the lens of Special Education.

Our Mission

Welcome to Linda Vista Elementary

At Linda Vista, we inspire students to be leaders by celebrating their worth and potential. As part of ARUSD’s original Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) cohort of schools, Linda Vista integrates dance, music, theater, and visual arts into the school curriculum. Through our curriculum and our supportive community, all students build the leadership and academic skills needed to succeed.

Our Visual and Performing Arts

An Original VAPA School

As an original VAPA school, Linda Vista integrates the arts into our school curriculum with music, visual arts, and performing arts.

Our Extracurriculars

Fun beyond the classroom.

We offer a range of sports and academic enrichment programs for our students including sports clubs like Little Heroes, and Expanded Learning Programs like Think Together and Filmmaking.

Parent Involvement

Our strong parent engagement.

We offer various opportunities for parent volunteers, in and out of the classroom including PTA, ELAC, PIQE, and volunteer opportunities on field trips and in the classroom.

A Model of Student Leadership

Fostering Student Success

Linda Vista works to develop students’ college-going mindset with rigorous lessons and study skills. We develop student leadership by implementing the “Leader in Me” process based on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, offering student leadership roles, and setting class and school goals - both personal and academic
